On this occasion, our client is an international mining company are currently looking for an experienced site based Deputy Project Manager to join one of their world class project, located in West Africa immediately.
The Role:
This position is reporting to the Project Manager, Near Mine Exploration.
Direct Reports: 2 x Senior Geo; 6 x Rig Geos; 40 x Field Crews
Reduce cost and drive productivities – measured by cost per sample
Assist Project Manager to continuously improve the quality of processes and systems and coach national staff – (goal is to bring them to the industry standards in the near future)
The ideal candidate will have:
• 10- 12 years experience in a similar role
• French-highly preferred
• BS or tertiary education in Structural Geology
• Sound understanding of exploration strategies, processes and work programs, from greenfields prospects to advanced resource drill-out
• Proven experience in management of exploration teams to drive positive results through coaching and various quality control methods
• Planning, execution, and interpretation of geochemical sampling field programs
• Design & management of RAB, RC, and diamond core drilling programs.
• Proficient with GIS software (Map Info & ArcMap)
• Some exposure in management of community relations
• Experience in the gold exploration preferably in Africa
• Exposure in management of budget, reconstruction of budget and financial and technical reporting
